The Portuguese Youth and Sports department, I.P (IPDJ) has the mission of executing a decentralized integrated policy for the areas of sports and youth, in strict collaboration with public and private entities, namely sports organisms, juvenile and student associations and local municipalities

IPDJ intervenes in the definition, execution and evaluation of public sports policy, promoting the sports generalization, along with the support to the regular sporting activity and high-performance sporting, through enabling of technical, human and financial resources. The sports ethic preservation is yet one of IPDJ essential scopes.
